Uptech Institute

Uptech Institute is a private, co-education college in Islamabad affiliated with the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE). It offers Matric and Intermediate programs that combine the standard academic syllabus with practical, job-ready technical skills. The institute runs two campuses, at I-9 Markaz and in PWD Housing Society. Alongside its college programs, it offers paid short courses for school and university students and is a registered NAVTTC training provider, running free government-funded IT courses for young people.

Founder and Background

Uptech was founded by Umar Hameed, a software developer and entrepreneur from Islamabad. He started out as a freelance web developer in 2016, worked with international clients on Upwork, Fiverr and Freelancer, and in 2020 founded Uptech Sol, an Islamabad software agency that builds web and mobile products for clients abroad.

Learning From a Working Software House

Uptech Institute grew out of that experience. The software house itself runs from the I-9 Markaz campus, so students learn from a team that ships real client projects every day. The institute sums up this approach in one line: “We teach what we practice in the real world.”
