Ayman began freelancing on Upwork around 2009–2010, after leaving a traditional job to pursue further studies. She started at just $2.5 an hour and, through years of consistent, high-quality work, rose to a $20 hourly rate, all while managing family responsibilities as a mother of two. Working primarily in operations, management, and virtual-assistant roles, she built a reputation for professionalism and reliability, earning a place among premium international clients, including legal heads of major corporations and multi-million-dollar Amazon sellers. Today she serves as the only Pakistani full-time remote employee for a US company with 100+ staff across 10 countries, a testament to the trust she has earned on the global stage.
In 2019, Ayman won Payoneer's Freelancer of the Year award, chosen from more than 4,500 applicants across 133 countries, becoming the only Pakistani woman to receive the honour at the time.
