Syed Arsalan Ali Shah is a prominent Pakistani tech entrepreneur, freelancing pioneer, and digital-ecosystem builder, widely recognised as the Founder and CEO of Connected Pakistan, a nationwide platform he established in 2015 to empower Pakistan through technology, freelancing, entrepreneurship, and digital innovation. With over a decade of experience in Pakistan’s digital economy, he has become one of the country’s leading advocates for freelancing, digital skills, and youth empowerment.
A decade ago, when freelancing in Pakistan was still emerging, Arsalan believed that giving the country’s youth access to global digital platforms could transform both their lives and Pakistan’s economic future. That vision became Connected Pakistan, which has grown from a small initiative into one of the country’s most influential technology and freelancing movements, connecting innovators, entrepreneurs, freelancers, and industry leaders to accelerate Pakistan’s digital transformation.
Since its inception, Connected Pakistan has organised 9 national Connected Pakistan Conferences across major cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar, alongside 5 Growth Summits, 2 Connected Women Conferences, and 2 editions of Connected Pakistan 30Under30, among other national platforms. Under Arsalan’s leadership, it has hosted over 2,500 speakers and industry leaders, conducted 500+ workshops, and organised 300+ additional events, collectively empowering more than 500,000 individuals, remarkably, all free of cost, ensuring accessibility for youth from both urban and underserved communities.
A passionate advocate for digital inclusion, Arsalan has led major training initiatives including E-Mustakbil and SheCan, through which over 50,000 Pakistanis have been trained in freelancing and digital skills, including 30,000 women equipped to enter the global digital workforce and achieve financial independence. Through nationwide university tours, seminars, and youth engagements, he has personally reached over 250,000 students, inspiring a generation toward freelancing, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies.
Arsalan is himself an accomplished freelancer and digital entrepreneur who has represented Pakistan on global platforms including Fiverr and Payoneer.
